Breeding Technology to Farmers Happiness
Mali Seeds Pvt Ltd., Ranaghat, West Bengal, is recognized by DSIR (F.NO.TU/IV-RD/4309/2018). R&D was established in 2010 at Kumarsatpur, Ranaghat, Nadia, West Bengal. Maintenance breeding, hybrid breeding, conventional and mutation breeding, as well as marker-assisted breeding, are our ongoing focus areas.
Two laboratories are available in our R&D department.
Quality characteristics of brown and milled rice are tested in our laboratory with physical, chemical and cooking parameters.
We analyze seed batches at a molecular level to confirm true-to-type genetics, ensuring farmers receive only the most authentic and uniform varieties.
We conduct rigorous field trials to observe actual plant performance, verifying that phenotypic traits match our high standards for yield and quality
Using advanced profiling, we create unique genetic IDs for our varieties, protecting intellectual property and guaranteeing the distinct identity of our seeds
We accelerate the breeding process by identifying specific genetic markers, allowing us to precisely select desired traits like disease resistance and high yield.
We validate our quality through national partnerships. Our advanced Rice and Mustard varieties are currently under evaluation by the All India Coordinated Rice Improvement Programme (AICRIP) by ICAR–IIRR and the All India Coordinated Research Project on Rapeseed-Mustard.
